Scott Sill performs a shootout between five great Audio-Technica condenser microphones. The five microphones used in the shootout are: the Pro37, AT2021, ATM450, AT4021, and AT4041. Scott uses two different picking styles along with two different styles of guitars.
For Scott’s Picking style he used a Custom Martin D-28 with an Adirondack spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. Scott played some basic cowboy style chords to hear how each of the mics perform with this style of playing.
For the finger picking style, Scott used a Custom Martin OM-28 Marquis Madagascar. This guitar has a bear claw, Italian spruce top with Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. Scott played an original song while finger picking and testing out each of the mics.
At the end of each test, there is a quick comparison of all the mics so you can compare them one last time.
