The fading of 'Northern Lights' on this PRS private Stock guitar from 2014 is scary. These guitars cost from £8000 to £10000 in the UK and by any standards that's a chunk of money. Most PRS Private Stock guitars are likely collectors items, but how would you feel if the guitar 'faded away' as this one has?
Personally I like it better as it is today, but do you? And is this even covered under warranty by the original owner? I guess you could lose serious money on any guitar that has the original finish fade away like this example shows.
So, is it good or bad that a guitar has faded like this? Does it matter? Does it make you think twice before buying a blue dyed guitar? Post your opinions below.
Did this video teach you anything about fading of the colours of guitars? And that certain colours are more likely to fade than others. We have all seen the faded Gibson red right? But I was really surprised just how much this particular guitar had faded in less than five years.
