The Rane Seventy is a new DJ mixer built off the foundation of the Rane Seventy-Two battle mixer. Built like a tank and using the same circuitry as the Seventy-Two, the Rane Seventy is a premium 2-channel mixer made for the professional club and scratch DJ providing top performance possibilities.
Forward-thinking design with a new intuitive workflow, the Rane Seventy mixer has clear, easy to understand sections giving you everything you need for complete control. This video gives you the rundown.
Starting from the top you can load your songs in and if you're going back to back with another DJ, this mixer was designed to work with two computers working off left and right knobs for track select and load to your prep section. The EQ section has added highlights for better visibility with standard low pass/high pass filter and gain control. The main controls in the middle of the mixer include main and booth output both balanced, one is ¼” and one is XLR.
The effects section has internal Flex FX giving you the ability to add and adjust echo and reverb as well as parameter controls and toggles allowing you to change up the BPM. For external effects, you can control all your Serato FX by just switching over to new mode. The Serato FX can be layered and even be set it up so you can layer in with the internal effects at the same time. In the effects section, you'll also notice two aluminum toggles that lock-in and can be flipped around. Working with the two wet dry knobs you can mix in your effects as opposed to just using the toggle.
Other features include 16 Akai dual layer MPC pads with independent mode controls per deck, a cue section and pitch-play, loops, rolls for beat jumps, sampler control, and transport control so you can DJ a full gig without anything connected to it, just the mixer, if you're DJ-ing for a more basic function and without any scratching.
The cuing section is slider style with a standard mix and volume control for your headphones. One of the standout features of the Seventy Mixer is the brand new Instant Doubles function. The Instant Doubles button allows you to take a song on one side and bounce it to the other side instantly while keeping everything in sync together. With the Instant Doubles you can also toggle as sync on-off or use it in silent cue mode.
Replacing the MAG THREE Fader in the line, the 3 brand new MAG FOUR faders have a super-light feel to them and with the magnetic tension adjust on top, you can adjust the feel easily when moving back and forth. On the cross fader there’s a physical tension adjust as well.
Front panel controls for the faders include standard curve adjust and reverse adjust, split cues, as well as controls for the microphones allowing for auto-ducking, echo, and more in the mixer.
On the back of the mixer you’ll find balanced outputs for the master and the booth as well as inputs for turntables, CD players, and a session in and out allowing you to daisy chain mixers together.
