This '56 Strat from Masterbuilder Jason Smith is a perfect example of quack-y, chime-y, sparkly-sounding Strat. The attack is articulate, woody and round. Each pickup position showcases incredibly vocal, soulful upper midrange. This is one of those Strats that does a great imitation of a blues singer! The bridge pickup is quite tight, and it sounds like a box full of jangle and glitter. The middle pickup has more low-end presence and more focused highs, and it has the perfect variety of cutting quack and cluck in the upper mids. Finally, the neck pickup was robust, smooth low-end to go with bell-like trebles and throaty midrange. Anyone looking for a chime-y, sunny-sounding Strat with world-beating expressiveness and dynamism will love this serial!
