While out on tour promoting their forthcoming album, Real Midnight, Birds of Chicago stopped by the Acoustic Guitar offices to perform three songs, explain how they evolved from a duo to a collective, and talk about their songwriting process.
The husband and wife team, JT Nero and Allison Russell, have been playing together for years, but officially formed Birds of Chicago in 2012. They spend more than 10 months of the year on the road, and it shows in their tight harmonies and distinct sound, which blends folk, country, and soul.
Catch them at AmericanaFest, FreshGrass, and more shows across the country. See all dates here and below.
