Landlord FX are a range of compact pedals with big sounds and a fun British bar room theme. Each pedal is made with an extremely sturdy metal chassis and they all feature True-Bypass switching, something of a coup considering how affordable they are!
Landlord pedals run off 9 volt mains power only: like lots of other compact mini stomp boxes, these are simply too small to accommodate two 1/4” jacks AND a 9v PP3 battery!
Landlord FX are a simple, affordable and enjoyable way to introduce fresh sounds and utilities to your pedalboard.
Landlord FX bring some significant firepower to the party in the shape of the Whiskey Chaser High Gain Distortion. Loud, fat and absolutely bursting with gain, this pedal is not to be trifled with.
Like its Landlord stablemates, the design and function of the Whiskey Chaser is straightforward. A tank-proof metal chassis houses a true-bypass footswitch, a mini-toggle switch and a trio of control knobs.
The mini-toggle gives you three flavours of filth, labelled Hooch, Bourbon and Scotch. All of these have slightly different EQ curves and outputs but all are fizzing with anger. This is definitely inspired by (though not the same as not intended to be a clone of) a certain ‘Rodent’ distortion pedal in that it is always pretty distorted and has actual midrange available. It’s a great sound.
We think the Landlord FX Whiskey Chaser more than earns its place on your pedalboard: it brings a fierce level of gain but leaves the fizz and buzz of other low-cost distortions well alone. It’s time to signal to the barman for one more.
