Jack always gets excited when an NBD (New Brand Day) rolls around, but when that brand happens to make some of the best, all-purpose, hugely versatile, high-gain monster amplifiers we've ever heard, it gets even better!
Mezzabarba impresses from the off, with a signature, minimalist aesthetic. These things look as though they mean business, and evoke the spirit of high-end sports car design with their simplicity, offering jaunty flashes of their sexy, oversized custom transformers, peaking through the front grill...
Anyway, before we get too excited, let's break down the range! Join us as we walk you through 4 of the Italian brand's strongest models, all the way from plug-and-play, old-school classic combos, through to multi-channel, MIDI switching, 100-watt behemoths!
Jack decided to keep things as simple as possible, employing a beautifully honest Knaggs Kenai J, with single P-90 pickup, to shine the spotlight entirely on each amp's capabilities. As you'll tell, even one pickup is enough to cover more tones than you could ever imagine! We also decided to stomp on a Maxon OD-808 as a boost in a couple of places, to show how these valve-driven tone machines swallow up your pedalboard. A Line 6 HX Effects does its usual job of providing atmospheric delay and reverb in the valve-buffered effects loops.
