Finding and then being able to use a classic Marshall 1959SLP can be difficult. They're amazing things but insanely loud, heavy and expensive. But most players just adore the tone. Marshall has acknowledged all of this and has now graced us with a far more manageable 20/5W (Low and High Attenuation) version in the SV20H. It features a 3 x ECC83 and 2 x EL34 tube array and is built in the UK. Does it deliver on tone? Oh, yes. Is it loud enough to gig with? I believe so. It certainly rattles the windows in my little room here. I'll put up a more comprehensive demo shortly, but for now have a taste with my trusty CS '61 RI SG.
