I think this song was written really well. The more you pay attention the more you get back from it. I like it when songwriters put in the effort to make a song likable on the first listen with little bursts of recognizable images, but also keep the song rewarding on multiple listens by having a character arc and implied story between the lines. Commercial country music does not have to be shallow.
