The gold top finish on a Gibson guitar is not just a simple coat of paint; it typically involves a combination of metallic flakes, translucent color layers, and a clear coat. Replicating this complex combination while refinishing requires a skilled hand and a deep understanding of the original process.

Today I will attempt to do this for the first time with simple rattle can paints from Grate Lakes Custom Color and no special tools. Wish me luck!
