What's going on everybody?!? SeanPierceJohnson here and welcome to another episode of "Stompbox Saturday"! On the stompin' block this week is the Horseman overdrive by NUX.
By now, the Klon centaur has become LEGENDARY...for one reason or another. But many players will never own one thanks to their insane price tags and the feet-dragging on the part of their builder to release new versions of the KTR or other pedals. Because of this the KLONE market has become saturated with new pedals seeking to replicate the classic tones and offer them at more affordable prices.
Enter NUX and the Horseman. The Horseman is a brave move on the part of NU-X. Chinese companies already have a hard time as it is being taken seriously but NUX has shown us over the last couple of years that we can expect them to make great pedals and sell them at great prices. And the Horseman continues that by offering a TWO types of Centaur-style overdrive in ONE mini pedal!
The Horseman uses a new diode to create the clipping in the overdrive and provides both Gold and Silver variations of the circuit.
