Join BlankFor.ms as he uses the Universal Audio Apollo x8 audio interface to transfer a tape loop from his Tascam 414 MKII into Ableton Live, showing off how he uses Unison technology to shape its sound.
Using UA's Unison plug-in emulation of the iconic Neve 1084, BlankFor.ms runs his loop through its 3-band EQ to filter, cut and boost different frequencies, adding all of the warmth and character it's famous for. Looking to add some grit to the sound, he then increases the gain level, pushing the front-end of the 1084's class-A preamp circuit to add even more complex harmonic content.
Universal Audio's Unison technology changes the Apollo mic preamps' behavior in real-time, changing the impedance and component-level circuit to accurately emulate some of the most iconic gear in recording history.
