From their Vibe Machine to the Unit67, DryBell have created studio-grade guitar effects inspired by legendary sounds and The Engine tackles yet another category with the dedication-- This foundation preamp is equipped with two independent analog circuits that can boost, drive and shape your guitar’s signal. Side A is designed to replicate the sonics and feel of a non-master volume British amp from the 60s. Volume, Gain and Tone along with a versatile Shape control for re-voicing the mids and is an excellent control for matching to your own amplifier. Side B is both a Clean boost and multifaceted EQ. The Range knob draws from one of the favorite features of the Unity67 and it’s DryBell’s take on the Rangemaster treble booster. You can bring in as much definition as you like while also tailoring the active Low and High EQ controls. The Engine has been designed so that both channel can stack in either order, opening up the possibility of classic treble boosted British amp tones from the late 60/early 70s to new and creative gain stacking and heavy tone sculpting.
Plus, the Engine allows up to 18V DC for higher, cleaner headroom and is wired with an ultra-low noise buffer to retain your guitar’s clarity when the pedal is off. Like all DryBell pedals, The Engine is masterfully designed and built in Croatia and more information on this foundation preamp can be found at Drybell.com.
