We could probably play this ES-335 all day, and not just because we love the '59 neck profile so dearly. It has the sort of tonality that semi-hollow dreams are made of: bass response that splits the difference between girth and muscle to go with open, airy highs with plenty of lush overtones, and enough midrange to punch through a mix. Oh, and incredible touch-sensitivity! You can really make the midrange sparkle by by strumming hard.
The bridge pickup has tighter lows to go with cutting upper mids and bell-like jangly highs. By contrast, the neck pickup has a deeper sound and a bit more punch in the mids, but it still has the same openness and clarity as the bridge pickup.
Anyone seeking a semi-hollow with addictive sound and feel will love this serial!
