This is yet another one of those unsung Gibson amps of the 60s. This model sat in the middle portion of the Gibson amp lineup with a volume control, reverb, and tremolo (both footswitchable), a 10" speaker, and a pair of 6AQ5 power tubes good for about 12 watts.
The 6AQ5 is the 7-pin mini socket equivalent of a 6V6. The preamp features a 12ax7 and two 6EU7s. The rectifier is tube also, and it's a 6CA4.
The speaker is a replacement Jensen ceramic, which seems to work very well in this amp.
The cleans are really nice with a bit of a scooped Fender Blackface vibe. With the reverb and tremolo kicked in, welcome to lushness heaven! It's not going to win any loudness contests against its bigger Fender rivals, but it's plenty loud for most gig situations, and it's LIGHT and easy to carry, which for a lot of players is even more important. When pushed, the amp will break up, especially with humbuckers.
The amp has been serviced and has a 3-prong cord. You'd struggle to find one in better condition.
