Scott Follweiler gives us a little history lesson at Winter NAMM 2015 as he describes C.F. Martin’s D-35 Brazilian 50th Anniversary Limited Edition dreadnought guitar. The D-35 first came into being in 1965 with its three-piece back, and this anniversary edition sports a variation found on instruments made between 1969 and ’70. Limited to just 100 instruments, the anniversary edition features Madagascar rosewood sides and back wings, Brazilian rosewood back center wedge and headplate, and European spruce top. Each bears an interior label personally signed by C. F. Martin IV and is numbered in sequence with the edition total.
