MESA/Boogie Mark V

This clip is an excellent demonstration of the crisp, full and detailed clean sound available from the FAT Clean mode in Channel 1 in the Mark V. Single picked notes ring with piano string clarity while strummed rhythm sounds are thick, clear and shimmering but still balanced across all without sounding 'hyped' or 'over EQ'd'. Beyond the clean potential in FAT (with Gain set above 12:00) low frequencies bloom with vintage fullness while clip increases smoothly and gradually throughout the range of the control. The FAT mode of the Mark V covers an impressive range of tastefully overdriven tones.
Played by Kris Dilbeck through the bridge position single coil then neck position pickups of a Fender Telecaster into a Mark V Head with a 1x12 Widebody Open-Back Extension cab. Mic'd with a Shure SM57 and a Sennheiser 421.
