In this video we will look at a few variations of the Teisco 'Tulip' style guitars. The 'Tulip' was introduced around 1966 and seems to have lasted until about 1970. The early versions featured the more rare 'zippo' style chrome pickups with solid wood necks, fully adjustable bridge/tailpieces in one, and striped chrome pickguards. Middle versions included teardrop control panels, plastic pickguards and rounded edge chrome pickups with non-adjustable pole pieces. Later versions had black plastic faux tooled leather pickguards, squared off chrome pickups, and laminated necks.
In this video we will compare a few examples and follow the making of a couple pole pieces that were missing from the greenburst model.
