In this video we will look at four Japanese guitars from different makers and with different pickups. We'll use a Fender American Standard Stratocaster as our control subject and a 1951 Fender Tweed Deluxe as our amplifier. Controls will not be touched on the amplifier so we can eliminate that variable and more closely compare pickup types.
Guitars used are:
1967 Hoshino Truetone Rock Star Single Red Sparkle pickup
1968 Sakai w/ Single 3-slit Teisco Style pickup
1967 Kawai Decca 2T w/ two Teisco Style Chrome wrapped adjustable pole pickups w/ black pole surrounds
1970 Kawai Kay SG Copy w/ non-adjustable chrome pickups 4-slits
