The SnakePick may look like a colourful toy, but it's a very functional piece of kit. Basically it's a pick that's attached to your finger by means of a comfortable plastic ribbon. That means you won't drop it and it frees you up to do claw picking, etc., without having to tuck your pick under another finger. The SnakePick comes in three sizes and three gauges. I'm using the red or medium 17mm in this video. So, is it a gimmick? I don't think so. It works well and is very comfortable and I know that sufferers of conditions like Cerebral Palsy have found it to be a godsend as well - it stays put.
Today's tools:
Smitty "Tuxedo" S-Style Guitar with Lollar Gold Foil Pickups. The neck is a solid block of rosewood and the body is a solid block of mahogany. I love that guitar.
The backing track is an original composition by yours truly written and recorded in Logic Pro X. The amp was a HIWATT Custom 100 and a 1x12 Mesa cabinet miked with a Royer 121. Well, sort of. I built that rig in Logic as well. I'm loving Logic!
Rock on. Try the SnakePick. Have some fun. :)
