This is a rewired, hot-rodded, heavily modified PA head. Tubes are 6EU7, 2x 6BQ5 (EL-84) and a 6V4 (EZ-80) rectifier.
A previous owner had replaced the power transformer when I got it and the wiring was all mucked up. Originally, because of the single preamp tube, the output was not wired in push-pull, and the preamp was originally designed with two gain stages. I redesigned the input stage, and converted the second stage to a cathodyne phase inverter. I then converted the output to push-pull and tweaked the bypass caps on the first and final stages. The results are something like an 8-10 watt, low output amp that screams like a vintage Marshall or Vox. Great for recording! A little screamer!
