Once included on a short list of "sleeper" amps by Ken Fisher of Trainwreck fame, the vintage H415 has a cult status among some players because of its exceptional Marshall Bluesbreaker like tone. It's origins have always been a mystery...until now! Harmony never made amps of its own. They always had contractors make their amps. Many were made by Valco. Others were Danelectro. This one is made by neither of those prolific, well-known companies. In this video, we'll explore why this can't be a Valco or Dano product and reveal who actually made it. In the process we'll also check out another Harmony labeled amp by the same maker - the H400 - and compare the two.
We finally conclude this is a Lectrolab R600C equivalent. Both amps have a similar tube compliment, same tremolo circuit, and the grid load resistors are exactly the same values as on the two channels of the H415!
