This week's matinee features my good, guitarist friend Michael Friedman. He's a great guitarist, and between songs, he's a funny, funny guy, at least according to him. (I also think he's funny.)
Guitar has been a long-standing interest in Michael's life starting when he was a teen. As he tuned his skills over the years, he's become known for his intricate fingering. Michael's complex, improvisational renditions of The Beatles, Bach, and other artists are truly captivating.
Along with his unique style of guitar playing he’s recently added a truly unique 7-string guitar to his repertoire. The addition of this guitar has added a nuance to his improvisations and to how he thinks of music. It’s become a centerpiece of his gigs.
Michael does solo gigs under a project name Ask Again Later, which, at times, also includes is a rotating group of musicians selected depending on the venue and event.
