Learning your first chord on the acoustic guitar is a big step towards playing music and writing songs. Pressing on the guitar strings—known as fretting—changes their pitch (aka note), and different combinations of notes make different chords. The G Chord is a perfect chord to start with—it uses fretted and open strings, and it appears in multitudes of songs. In this video, guitarist Nicholas Veinoglou demonstrates how to play the open G chord and shares some tips and tricks for sounding your best.
