Take the much loved Bassman/JTM45 foundation and turn it into a rock tone monster. That was the basic philosophy behind the Achillies ARGOS 40W head. There are too many features to list here so I recommend a visit to the website to check it out properly, but I've tried to flick through many of its useful additions during the course of this jam, which, incidentally is over a track called "Night Train" available from Jamtrackcentral.com.
The guitar is a MIM Charvel HT that has been resprayed and had Brierley Pickups installed. It's cheap and cheerful but I love it and despite owning at one point or other most of the Charvel range from the handbuilt 80's originals through to recent Custom Shop versions, it's the only one I've hung onto.
The Argos is feeding an OwnHammer Greenback IR which is being hosted by my Axe-FX II XL+. The Argos' speaker output is feeding a Fractal Audio X-LOAD LB-2 Reactive Load which, I have to say, is one of the most useful devices I've ever owned. Basically, it means I can pair any of my 'real' amps with any one of thousands of high quality IR's. And, I'm not at the mercy of, say, 100W amp deafening me or causing neighbourly disturbance.
There is some reverb and delay added. This is 'post IR' and from the Axe-FX II XL+.
The Axe-FX II is feeding Logic Pro X. I mastered the audio with Waves L3-16 Limiter.
This is an unsolicited and free demo. I just felt like making it.
