The Eastcoast GS500 is a very modern looking super-strat style guitar featuring an HSS pickup configuration, so with that high output humbucker pickup at the bridge, it makes this guitar an ideal choice for players wanting higher gain rock and metal tones, but whilst still having access to the sparkling clean tones available from the single coil pickups.
A full size electric guitar with a 25.5” scale length, the body of the GS500 is made from Okoume, it’s looks fantastic with it’s high gloss burst finish and binding around the edges, there’s a bolt on maple neck with a lovely smooth satin finish, and this is fitted with a maple fingerboard with black dot inlays and 22 frets.
On a whole, the guitar performs really well, it’s feels nice and easy to play with it’s comfortable, modern feeling neck profile and fast, low action setup, ideal for fast riffs and sweeping lead lines, and tuning is easy and accurate thanks to a set of well engineered sealed gear tuners up on the headstock and a great feeling, contemporary looking 2 point tremolo bridge, allowing you to add some classic strat style vibrato or more extreme whammy bar dive bombs.
Tonally, the GS500 is one of the most versatile guitars in the Eastcoast range, with the modern sounding pickups offering crisp, defined clean tones from the neck and middle position single coils, whilst the humbucker pickup at the bridge offers a gruntier, thicker tone, which sounds great for distorted rhythm playing. A 5 way switch allows you to select pickups either individually or combined, and there’s a volume and 2 tone controls, one to adjust the tone of the two single coil pickups, and the other to roll off the treble on just the humbucker.
