Dano D59M-NOS meets Axe-FX II for a whiskey.
I used a slightly tweaked (more input gain) preset from the Axe FX II's FW15.02 called "Cavernous". This is a fairly simple amp, cab, reverb affair that uses a Mesa Boogie Triaxis preamp Rhythm Green channel through to a 1960B 4x12 cab loaded with V30's and then on to the Fractal Audio "Cavern" reverb. From the Axe FX II it went to Pro Tools via USB to the Mac. Inside Pro Tools I ran the Waves L316 Limiter to keep the levels in check, and that's it.
The Danelectro D59M-NOS is a recent release that I bought from Mark and the guys at Music Zoo, NYC. It uses a truss rod (yay!), decent wrap-around bridge, NOS lipstick pickups and the general Dano mojo. If you can find one, I highly recommend them.
Apologies for the low light in the clip. As usual, inspiration took me straight after dinner and the lighting in this room is pretty crap (one bulb!). I ran a GoProWhite to capture the take.
Cheers,
B
